The school premises of JSS Public School was swept with galore of delicacies, games, rides, tattoos etc on 15 November, 2022 as the school witnessed its first ‘Share N Care’ Carnival. The carnival was filled with stalls put on by our students of grade 8, 9 and 10. There were eateries, game zones, art gallery, mehendi, bullock cart ride and many other activities filled with fun. Parents and schools from neighbouring schools participated and enjoyed the carnival. Students turned entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts put up a great show as they made delicacies and sold them to the people. A share of the profit that children got was given to charity. The whole event was conceptualized with an objective to bring about organisational skills, team building,

financial literacy, interpersonal skills among students.

Kannada Rajyostava was celebrated with great enthusiasm at JSS Public School, J.P Nagar, Mysuru by the staff and students in the school premises on 8 November 2023. The programme commenced with an invocation song by Venugopal of class Grade 9. It was followed by lighting the lamp by the Principal Mrs. Smitha Kurup K and the Vice Principal Mrs.Sunitha K, flowers were offered to the photo of Kannada Thayi Bhuvaneshwari. Students of grade 6 and 7 presented a group song. Shreya B.R of Grade 9 spoke about the history and importance of the day. She also spoke about richness of the language. The students of grade 6 and 7 performed a beautiful group dance. Grade 6 and 7 presented a jugal bandi of Kannada songs. The students of grade 1 to 7 were able to spread the fragrance of Folk Arts of Karnataka like Kamsale, Dollu Kunitha, Yakshagana, Huli Kunitha and so on by spectacular dance performance. The audience were welcomed by the Principal Mrs. Smitha Kurup K. Saniha and Nishchal of grade 10 hosted the program. Vote of thanks was rendered by Kannada teacher Mr. Ashok. The event generated a sense of pride in the minds of the audience, for being part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant.

29th Annual Day Celebrated

The 29th Annual Day celebration was held on 23/12/2023 in JSS Public School J.P.Nagar.

With divine blessing of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Sutturu, the function was arranged in a grand manner. Sri. S.P.Manjunath, Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeeta presided over the function. Sri. Dr P Shivaraju, Senior Officer, Karnataka Administrative Service, Mysuru was the Chief Guest. The Valedictory Address was presented by Sri. Dr. Gubbi Goodu Ramesh, Assistant Director, Department of School Education, Bengluru. The Principal Smt. SmithaKurup K presented the annual report of 2023 -24.Master Nishchal of grade 10 read out the CCA report of 2023-24. School Captain Master. Chamakya R welcomed the gathering.

Dr. P Shivaraju in his speech spoke about the importance of education in childrens’ life. He said, Education is the strength, light and life. Students should not run behind the marks. Values are more important than marks. Parents are the role models for their children. They should make the children understand their responsibilities in life. He appreciated the contribution of JSS Institutions striving for overall development of children.

Dr. Gubbi Goodu Ramesh spoke the role of moral education in a child’s life. He said that the parents must teach their children about the values and give more importance for the co-curricular activities. The society should have a positive perspective on social issues. He remembered the great personalities like G.P Kailasam and Babu Rajendra Prasad and their perspectives on success. He emphasised on instilling self-confidence among children.

Sri. S.P Manjunath sir, in his presidential address congratulated the children who won the prizes and he spoke about the  foresight of Jagadguru Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji in providing education to the children.

Kumari Shivani G, School Vice–Captain proposed the Vote of Thanks. Roja.R, faculty member hosted the programme.

The toppers who excelled in academic performances from LKG to X were awarded and CCA prizes were distributed. The trophy and cash prize for Classical Duet Dance competition conducted during “Manasadhara Fest’’ on December 22nd were given away to the winners. The house Trophy was bagged by the Shastri house and runner up Trophy was given to Ramanujan  house.

The theme of the cultural programme was “Life is Beautiful”. The children from LKG to X presented different dances pertaining to the theme. The children mesmerized the audience by exhibiting wonderful performances. The finale performance of Grade X enthralled the entire audience. The event was culminated by the National Anthem.

Healthy Baby and Wiz Baby Contest held in JSS Public School,  J P Nagar, Mysuru-31 

JSS Public School J P Nagar organized ‘Healthy Baby and Wiz Kid Contest’ on 22nd December. The contest was open for all.

The local residents participated in the contest. Healthy Baby contest was judged the well know and renowned pediatricians, Dr. Narayanappa Professor Department of  pediatrics, JSS Hospital Mysore. There was an array of activities such as aiming the ball, getting ready to school, potato race. The area was filled with joy and laughter  of  little kids and tiny tots enthusiastically participating in the competitions.

JSS Public School, JP Nagar, Mysuru, hosted an exuberant Carnival at the school premises on 21st, December, 2023. The stalls were set up by the students of grade 8, 9 and 10. Food Stalls filled with a galore of delicacies such as chats, juice, marsh mellows, sweet and savouries showcased the cooking expertise of students. The students turned as business enthusiasts and entrepreneurs were excited to serve the crowd gathered with all that they had prepared. Bullock cart ride, magic show, DJ music and dance called ‘ Shake a leg’  awaited children, parents and the school staff. Fun games for parents filled the air with joy and laughter.

The Carnival based on the theme. ‘ Share n Care’ which is a fund raising event to the under privileged class of society was inaugurated by Sri. S. P. Manjunath, the Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru. With everyone enjoying as one big family, the funfair was another feather in the cap of JSS Public School, JP Nagar. The bright faces and happy smiles were ample proof that the Carnival was a grand success.

JSS Public School J P Nagar organized ‘Manasadhara Cultural Fest 2023-24’. As a part of the fest, an Inter School Classical Duet Dance Competition and Healthy Baby and Wiz Kid Contest was held on 22nd December 2023 in the school premises.

The school choir invoked the blessings of God through their scintillating performance and the fest was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Sri. S.P Manjunath Secretary -1 JSS Mahavidyapeeta, Dr. T. C Poornima , Director of Information and Broadcasting Department, Mysuru, Prof. Narayanappa, Pediatrician, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, Smt Smitha Kurup K, Principal and Smt.Sunitha.K.A, the Vice-Principal.

School’s Principal Smt. Smitha Kurup K welcomed the gathering. The day’s Chief Guest addressed the gathering about the importance of performing arts.

Dr. T.C Poornima in her speech spoke about the importance of education and art in  a person’s life. India has the history on arts from thousands of years. JSS Educational Institution is playing a predominant role in cultivating culture and art in education. She appreciated  the initiative taken by JSS Public School in arranging the dance competition from past 9 years which is admirable and is escalating the importance of dance to the society.

Prof. Dr. Narayanappa in his speech spoke about the contribution of JSS Institution in defeating the hunger and providing education. He added that a child should be responsible and ethically strong in life. The overall development of a child not only lies in the hands of teacher but also in the hands of parents. So both of them are the artists who carve a child in becoming a strong individual.

Sri. S.P Manjunath sir in his presidential speech told about the main objective of JSS Institution, that is inculcating ,  art as well as the culture in education. The institution is giving opportunities to the students to showcase their talent and creativity.

Smt. Vidushree Sreelakshmi, faculty member rendered the vote of thanks, Smt. Rajeshwari faculty member introduced all the judges who had graced the occasion..

The day’s event was anchored by Kum. Sharanya. M of grade 9 and Kum. Anagha N Kashyap of grade 8. The participants from various schools of city enthralled the audience with their well choreographed performances.

The parents from various parts of the city came with their kids. The kids participated in various games which were held according their categories in Healthy Baby and Wiz Kid Contest and took part actively and made the program a grand success.

JSS Public School, JP Nagar celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21st,  2023. The theme being Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the children performed various Asanas. Watching children perform asanas in unison amidst the sprawling green campus was a delight. Children felt relaxed as they culminated the Yoga by performing Naadi Shodha Pranayama and meditation.

On account of National Reading Day, JSS Public School, JP Nagar initiated a program called DEAR( Drop Everything and Read) where children were issued books of their choice and read dropping all other activities for 90 minutes. This was initiated to inculcate and emphasize reading skills among students.

The Premises of JSS Public School J.P Nagar School echoed with the blessings on the evening of 3rd Saturday 2024 as the school celebrated Valedictory Ceremony. JSS Management and the staff came together to bid farewell to the outgoing 2024 batch of grade 10 Students. It was the evening filled with mixed emotion for all present at the ceremony to witness the official send off for the grade 10 Students.

The evening was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teacher to reminisce joyous moments.

Mr. Ashoka Palya, Deputy Director, Public School Division. JSS Mahavidyapeetha spoke on the occasion educating the students about the innumerable careers avenues available in the current scenario. The Guest of Honour, Mr. C C Pawate impressed the audience with his witty talk, which combined humor & insight. The beautiful evening was brightly lit by his amusing anecdotes which filled the smartly dressed young ladies and gentle men creating ripple of laughter.

Principal Smitha Kurup K  moved the listeners emotionally with her heart touching speech which evoked strong emotions among the audience.

The students of grade 9 organised farewell party with great enthusiasm and lift a trail of nostalgia behind.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY-2023

On account of World Environment Day, we had cultural activities at school performed by our students which emphasized on conserving Mother Earth. Later our students of grade 6 to 10 went for a walkathon around JP Nagar making the neighborhood aware of the importance of conserving nature and making this planet sustainable.

JSS Public School, JP Nagar, Mysuru celebrated the most auspicious ceremonial occasion of the school, Investiture Ceremony on 4th July 2022, with full zeal & zest and enthusiasm. The Investiture Ceremony is one of the momentous occasions when the school entrusts hope, faith and the mantle of responsibility to the newly appointed school cabinet. This ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly office bearers.

The chief guest, Mrs. Geetha Prasanna, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mysuru graced the occasion. The school captain and vice captain and the captains and vice captain of 4 different houses namely, Shastri, Tagore, CV Raman and Ramanuja house were conferred badges, sashes and flags.
